Administration Terms and Terminology

Here is an explanation of many of the terms, phrases and concepts used by Responserack.

Term Definition Example
Arrival Date / Time Arriving at the scene (or in the area of the reported incident, e.g. for a smoke report.) Unit 2 was arrival (in the area) at 10:20
En Route Date / Time "Going en route" is the event of leaving the fire station to proceed to the incident scene. Also known as "leaving the barn", "leaving the station". Unit 1 went en route at 10:00 
Incident Command The Department Resource who implements command and in the incident command system Unit 1 established Incident Command.
Incident Role Department resources who perform a role at an incident. 7092 established incident command, and 7094 took operations and 7091 took the role of safety officer.
Termination Date / Time When the primary agency fire resources leave the scene, including leaving the scene in the hands of another agency.  If providing mutual or auto aid, it is when this department leaves (the scene may remain open for other units.) Unit 3, as incident command, terminated the incident at 11:30, and proceeded to leave the scene.
