What is Incident Category & NFIRS Incident Type?

Incident Category and NFIRS Incident Type ...

Reporting on the incident involves setting the correct Incident Category, which indirectly sets the NFIRS Incident Type.

NFIRS (and Responserack) is "as found" not "as toned", so you could be toned to a smoke report but arrive at a wildland fire. Change the dispatch information to what you arrival and deal with.

Change the Incident Category

To change the incident category tap the category button (top/right, see next) and an incident category chose will appear.

The most recently used incident categories are presented.
