Migrating to NERIS

The steps for migrating to NERIS with Responserack:

  • [Fire Dept] Determine your NERIS migration month, and confirm it with Responserack
  • [Responserack] Ensure Responserack has your NERIS identifier listed.
  • [Fire Dept] Enter (or Create) your account in NERIS, and enroll in the "Responserack integration" (to allow Responserack access to your department on your behalf.) [See below.] Let Responserack know.
  • [Fire Dept] Update your department stations and apparatus in NERIS.
  • [Responserack] Allow Responserack to reconcile your station and apparatus data in NERIS with the similar data in Responserack.
  • [Fire Dept] (Once in the Migration Month) Start processing your incidents for NERIS, and marking them as "Ready for NERIS" when appropriate.
  • [Responserack] Responserack will synchronize your NERIS incidents to NERIS (no need to manually export files.)

Enroll in the Responserack NERIS integration

Copy and paste this gobbledegook enrollment identifier into your NERIS configuration. See the image below for where and how. It tells NERIS you allow Responserack to do work on your fire department's behalf:

Update your Department's Stations and Apparatus

Log into NERIS and "Edit" your Department. Here is some information on what to enter for your department, your stations, and your apparatus (a.k.a. units.)

Responserack will attempt to "reconcile" that information with Responserack's configuration, to pull in appropriate NERIS IDs, so please use a "CAD Designation 1" or "CAD Designation 2" to match your Apparatus name and/or Apparatus Designation in Responserack.

See the full list of unit types.
